Letter From Recruitment Chair

Letter From Recruitment Chair

Dear Potential New Members,

I am thrilled to introduce you to the sisterhood of Phi Mu. Established in 1852, Phi Mu creates a bond between those who dedicate their lives to academics, service, and sisterhood.

I would like to share with you just some of the many reasons Phi Mu is so dear to my heart. Phi Mu provides students with a home away from home. We strive every day to make our sisters feel welcomed, loved, and supported.

Phi Mu is dedicated to three core values: love, honor, and truth. I have an endless amount of love for my sisters. Together, we honor our philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Our bond as sisters helps us be truthful to ourselves. Becoming a Phi Mu has positively impacted my life forever. As a potential new member, I knew Phi Mu was special, and I was so excited about the prospect of joining such a genuine and loving sorority. Now as Membership Director, I am excited to share with you everything Phi Mu has to offer!

Going Greek provides friendships, memories, and opportunities that will last a lifetime. Although your time at Louisiana Tech University is temporary, going Greek is forever. I hope you find a sisterhood that makes you feel as welcomed, loved, and supported as I have found within Phi Mu.

Formal Recruitment takes place the first week of fall quarter and introduces potential new members to the different sororities on campus. These events occur over a four-day period, concluding with a Bid Day celebration. This year, the first two days of recruitment will begin with the Open House rounds. The Open House rounds are an opportunity for potential new members to learn about each sorority on campus, and we can get to know you in return! The second round of recruitment is dedicated to philanthropies and sisterhood. Sisterhood round is always a very rewarding experience because you’re able to gain insight on the different philanthropies and see which one your heart connects to most, along with being able to see how strong the bond is between the girls in the different sororities. The final round of recruitment is Preference round. This round is an opportunity for potential new members to truly consider what sisterhood they feel the most at home with. This day of recruitment is intimate and gives you one last look at the sororities you have connected with the most before you make your final decision.

After Preference round concludes, there will be a Bid Day celebration! This is the day dedicated to welcoming provisional members into their new sororities. Bid Day is where your new sisters welcome you home with loving arms. At this point, you will be proud to say you are officially a member of Greek Life at Louisiana Tech University.

I encourage you to explore our Phi Mu website, visit our social media accounts, and contact me with any questions you may have. I’m looking forward to seeing you during Formal Recruitment.

Sincerely,

Gracie Reichman
