Alpha Lambda Chapter at Louisiana Tech University

Letter From Philanthropy Chair

Letter From Philanthropy Chair

Our national philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, is something the women of our chapter are very passionate about. Our local CMNH is located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Our chapter, Alpha Lambda, annually hosts three large fundraisers directly benefiting this branch of CMNH. Due to COVID, our philanthropy events have not looked quite like they have in the past. This past fall, we hosted a virtual raffle open to family, friends, and Louisiana Tech students. We had a great time through Facebook live drawing names to win our awesome assortment of prizes! This winter, we hosted King Cakes for the Kids, which consisted of a king cake pre-sale. We hosted a COVID friendly event, for those who participated, to come pick up their delicious king cakes! In the spring, we plan to host our annual Parent’s Weekend event, to allow for family members to come experience the awesome ladies of our chapter.

In addition to our national philanthropy events, we participate in community organizations such as The Boys and Girls Club of North Central Louisiana, Rock Steady Boxing, and a few others. We also love to support other greek life philanthropy events, whenever possible.

Having the opportunity to serve Phi Mu as Philanthropy Chairwoman has shown me how much of an impact the women of our chapter can have on other people. Being able to give back to others goes along with my favorite line of our creed, “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand,” and I truly believe this is something the ladies of Alpha Lambda exemplify on and off campus. We hope to see you at our future events!
